As a little girl I would help my mother water her houseplants and watch her pull out a gardening book for advice and to find their names. It kinda stuck with me, so in highschool I joined the FFA Floriculture and I took Greenhouse at vo-tech my senior year which made me change my major going into college. I ended up playing volleyball on a full ride scholarship. I didn't love college and missed my family dearly. I was ready to start working and get my hands dirty. My mother handed me a Kansas City Gardener and told me greenhouses were hiring this time of year. So the first one I applied to I was hired on the spot and worked there for 7 years until the owners retired. I missed the industry so much and didn't get back into it until after I became a mother. In the meantime I gardened and kept collecting houseplants and worked in some office jobs. Once I had my kiddos I became a stay at home mom which was a dream of mine. I taught myself how to make everything from bread to laundry soap to slime.
Making of Paula's Petals

In 2019 a high speed chase ended up with the vehicle in our home. We soon built the honorary stand at the corner of our drive to hopefully break a hit so a vehicle wouldn't end up in our home again. The stand grew into The Little Corner Stand. I was featured on social media and went worldwide. Each spring I would open the stand and fill it with fresh eggs from my chickens, produce from my gardens and plant babies I propagated myself. I decided in 2022 I would take the leap and become a legal business owner. That's when Paula's Petals bloomed. In the summer of 2023 I took on my second love and became a florist. The journey has been amazing so far. The stand operates each year still from May-Oct 24hrs a day.
Currently I have added a secret garden to grow flowers for my floral business and also being built is my greenhouse.
Dreams really do come true if you keep pushing for what you want in life.
