Beaucarnea recurvata - Ponytail Palm - This plant grows with a bulbous base. This base needs to sit above the soil. It is native to Southeastern Mexico. *Fun Fact - This plant is also known as the elephants foot, because as it grows larger the base resembles a large elephants foot.
